Valet Service at Nice Airport: A Firsthand Review (With a 12-Hour Flight Delay)
If you live in Liguria or the northwest, Nice Côte d’Azur Airport is often the best and most budget-friendly option for long-haul flights. But when you’re traveling as a family of four with young kids and a ton of luggage, dealing with airport parking can quickly turn into a costly logistical nightmare.
For ourDIY road trip to Guadeloupe, we decided to test out aValet Car Parkingservice in Nice for the very first time. Here is our honest review of how it works and why it turned out to be the absolute best decision of our entire trip.

What is Valet Parking and How Does It Work?
Instead of driving all the way to a remote parking lot, waiting around for a shuttle bus while juggling strollers and suitcases, and then walking to the terminal, a Valet service completely eliminates all those intermediate steps:
- Upon Departure:You enter your flight details during the online booking process. About half an hour before arriving at the airport, you make a quick phone call to alert the driver.
- Dropping Off the Car:The driver (the valet) waits for you directly in front of the departures terminal. You unload your bags, hand over the keys, and they take the car to a secure, covered parking facility nearby.
- Upon Return:You coordinate via phone with the driver based on your actual landing time, and they make sure your car is waiting for you right outside the arrivals terminal.

The Ultimate Test: Our Massive 12-Hour Delay
The true efficiency of a service shows itself when things go wrong. On our way back from the Caribbean, we hit a massive travel mishap:a whopping 12-hour delayon our connecting flight from Paris Orly to Nice.
To make matters worse, it was just 3 degrees Celsius (37°F) in Paris, and we had left all of our heavy winter jackets locked inside the car back in Nice (after all, who needs winter gear in Guadeloupe?). We were stuck waiting around the airport in the freezing cold with two exhausted little girls.
When we finally touched down in Nice in the dead of night, completely spent and freezing, we were terrified we’d have to wait hours to get our car back. Instead, thanks to constant communication, the Valet driver was right there waiting for us outside the arrivals terminal with **the car already running and fully warmed up**. Being able to step straight inside, crank up the heat, and head home without standing around in the freezing air was absolutely priceless.

Is It Worth Giving It a Try?
Without a doubt, yes. If you are traveling with kids, the amount of time, effort, and stress you save compared to traditional shuttle-based parking lots is immense. The pricing is often highly competitive with the airport’s official parking lots, especially when you factor in the sheer comfort it offers.
We will definitely be using it again for our upcoming trips departing from the French Riviera!
